Gloria Constance Chaudoir Major, M.D., 84, died on Monday, May 19, 2014. She was a graduate of LSU Medical School in 1951. She practiced medicine for 55 years. She was also a Deputy Coroner. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Major Simmers; son, Charles Lubin Major; and two grandchildren, Zachary and Aaron Simmers.
She is preceded by her husband, Cherie Eugene Major,Jr. M.D.; son, Eugene “Cat” Chaudior Major, Jr.
Parents, Charles Cyrus and Ida Lee Chaney Chaudoir; and two sisters, Helen Clarie Chaudoir.and Marie Celeste Chaudoir, M.D.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in White Castle. Interment to follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Baton Rouge.
