

Lena Canella LeBlanc, a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in White Castle on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was 84, and a native of Bayou Goula.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses Herbert Jr. and Brenda LeBlanc of Belle River, Dolores Campesi of White Castle, Elaine and Paul Redmon of Thibodaux, and Melissa and Darrel Ventress of Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren Neil LeBlanc, Wendy Aguillard, Lindsey Raffray, Maigan Giglio Guidry, Jessica, Garrett, and Rory Ventress; four great-grandchildren, Rachel Duvall, Katy LeBlanc, Grayson and Samantha Aguillard; a sister-in-law Lena Catanzaro Canella; close friends and neighbors Herbin and Marilyn Henry and Todd Rousseau and also numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 yrs Herbert J. LeBlanc Sr.; parents Victor Canella and Frances Campesi Canella; son-in-law Vincent Campesi; six sisters Anna C. Sciortino, Frances C. Bourg, Josephine Canella, Mary C. Zito, Catherine C. LeGlue and Rosa Canella; and four brothers Frank, Sam, John, and Nat Canella. She was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters.
Visitation will be on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor from 9:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow in the White Castle mausoleum.
