

Lucille "Maw Maw Cille" Callegan Daigle, age 75, a native and resident of White Castle, passed away on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, in Baton Rouge. She is survived by two sons, Rodney Daigle and wife Stacey and Bryan Daigle and wife Darcie Olexia; three sisters, Bessie Banta, Mary Bertholet and husband Alcide, and Genevieve Maurin and husband James; two brothers, Curtis Callegan and wife Barbara and Davis Callegan and wife Cathy; four grandchildren, Ryan Daigle, Sofia Daigle, Tru Daigle, and Randi Daigle; and a great-grandchild, Gracyn Aucoin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Mandy Callegan; five brothers, William Callegan, Floyd Callegan, Phillip Callegan, Joseph Callegan and J.D. Callegan; two sisters, Majorie Callegan and Alta Bertholet; and brother-in-law, Nolan Banta. She was a retired and self-employed babysitter, helping raise more than 100 kids in 36 years of service. She loved every one of them as her own. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home of White Castle on Monday, Nov. 28, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at Our Lady of Prompt Succor of White Castle on Tuesday, Nov. 29, from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Joey Angeles celebrant. Interment will follow in the White Castle Cemetery. Special thanks to Plaquemine Caring Center Nursing Home for their great care giving to her and all her new friends.
