

Alice M. Holman, 89, of Whiting, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Crestwood Manor in Whiting. Alice was born in Hawthorne, NJ and grew up in Pompton Lakes. She was a member of the Pompton Lakes Reformed Church where she sang in the choir while her mother played piano. She loved singing and was a beautiful soprano vocalist. It was there that she met her future husband, George, when they were just 15 years old.
Alice was married in 1951 and attended secretarial school in Paterson. She was very good at dictation and typing. She retired as a secretary to the principal at Francis T. Maloney High School in Meriden, CT.
Alice and George lived several places before settling down in Ocean Acres, Manahawkin in 1992, where they became avid members of the Ocean Community Reformed Church and the choir there. They retired to Whiting in 2016. Alice will be dearly missed.
Alice is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, George Holman; her son, Ross Holman and his wife Janice of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; daughter, Karen Kumnick of Chesapeake, VA; 3 grandsons, Philip, Matthew and his wife Bernice and Timothy and his wife Ashley; 2 great-grandsons, Jacob and Jonah; and many loving cousins in Canada.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 11am at Ocean Community Reformed Church, 1492 Rt. 72, Manahawkin, NJ. Committal will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 1:30pm at Brig. Gen Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting, NJ is in charge of the arrangements.
