Antonio Vida

Antonio Vida, 91, of the Whiting section of Manchester Twp., passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during WWII. After 22 years, he retired from the Navy and became a Stationary Engineer working for Reichold Industries in Newark for several years retiring in 1991. Antonio was an active member in the Knights of Columbus for years, and the VFW as well. Born in New Bedford, MA, he resided in Roselle Park for many years, coming to Whiting in 1993.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Luciana (nee Cunha) Vida, and their children, Christopher and his wife Rica of Bridgewater and 2 daughters, Patricia Marie Ryan and her husband Robert of Phillipsburg and Elizabeth Ann Granrath of Crisco, PA. Also surviving are his 7 grandchildren, Angela, Anthony, Tara-Lynn, Rachel, Kim, Andi & Michelle. He also leaves 3 great grandchildren. Antonio is also survived by his siblings, Alfred Vida of Elizabeth and a sister, Celeste Reis of Portugal.

Friends may call on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 9am - 10am with Services to begin at 10am from the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Road, Whiting, NJ 08759. Committal will follow at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
