Carol M. Galuska Umstead

Carol Umstead, 83, of Whiting, NJ passed away on Thursday November 9, 2017 with her loving family by her side. Born and raised in Newark NJ, she lived in Iselin for 26 years before retiring to Whiting where she resided for the past 22 years.

Carol enjoyed her iPad where she spent countless hours challenging others in Words with Friends. She was an avid reader all of her life enjoying both mysteries and romance. In earlier years, she enjoyed bowling and going out on the boat and fishing with her older brother. She touched many lives and all who knew and loved her will miss her greatly.

She is predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Walter Umstead, her parents Edward and Generose Galuska, a brother Edward Galuska and a sister Jane Spatzier. Carol is survived by her loving children Gary Umstead and his wife Irene, Steven Umstead and his wife Dixie, Lori Umstead and Christine Umstead and her wife Kim, two sisters Kathleen Golla and Ann Onuska as well as her grandchildren, great grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.
