

Cynthia Cameron Ramsay, 85, of Whiting, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, NJ. Cynthia was born and raised in New Hampshire and lived many years in Rye, NH, just down the road from a beautiful beach. She graduated as a registered nurse from New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston, MA. While in school, Cynthia met her husband, Robert. They married in 1958 and had 64 wonderful years together. They briefly lived in Massachusetts, West Virginia and New York while having their children and settled down in Piscataway, NJ to raise their family.
Cynthia worked as a school nurse for many years. She was an active member of Community Presbyterian Church of Edison where she served as an elder, taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She later worked for Interfaith Hospitality Network as a program director, helping homeless people in a variety of ways. Cynthia and her husband retired and moved to Ocean County. Having grown up on the beach in New Hampshire, Cynthia truly loved living by the ocean in her older years. Cynthia was an active member of Ocean Community Church in Stafford Township where she served on the Consistory, worked on the worship committee, and helped with special events. Cynthia lived at Crestwood Manor independent living, where she participated in several committees and volunteered for the in-facility store. She enjoyed many hobbies, including sewing, bowling, bocce ball, puzzles, theater, arts & crafts and online games.
Cynthia is survived by her beloved husband, Robert K. Ramsay; her 2 daughters, Linda Rankin and her husband James of Indianapolis, IN and Debra Elwood and her husband Paul of Lebanon, NJ; her son, Scott Ramsay and his wife Kathy of Metuchen, NJ; 7 grandchildren, Hillary, Ruth, Travis, Robert, Bailey, Cameron and Cassidy; and 3 great-grandchildren, Lena, Robert and Jane. She is also survived by her 2 sisters, Lorraine Craig and Sandra Schools; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 10-11am at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting, NJ. Funeral Services will begin at 11am at the funeral home.
