

Doris Margaret Dilts (nee Harrison), passed peacefully on June 14, 2023 with her family beside her. Born in Trenton, NJ Doris lived in Hamilton Township, Cedar Glen Lakes in Whiting, and at Spring Oak of Toms River, NJ. Doris met and married her beloved Husband John over 74 years ago, they were married in 1950 and enjoyed 69 years building an incredibly active and loving family. During this time Doris was one of the first female customer service representatives in the Trenton area to work for McDonalds Corporation, she proudly worked in this capacity for 29 years before retiring. Through her working years and into her retirement she loved to visit Florida, enjoyed playing bingo, camping in Mays Landing, reading, crocheting, and most importantly spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In life Doris will always be know for her jewelry, her scarves and most importantly her sweet tea (nobody but her got the recipe correct).
Doris's devotion and love to her husband and children was her most important focus in life. Doris was a Beloved wife of her husband John Dilts Jr who passed in 2019. She was the proud mother of John and his wife Kathy Dilts of Blooming Grove, PA, Linda Webb of Whiting, NJ, Holly and her husband James Candia III of Cape Coral, FL. Her love and affection for her Grandchildren, Dr. Jennifer A. Serfin and spouse Michael, Jason B. Dilts and his spouse Heather, Lauren K Dilts and her fiance Nicholas, Jacqueline A Hammell and her spouse Joseph, James A IV Candia, Nicholas J Candia and his spouse Laura was visible every moment. She adored her great grandchildren and was known as GG Mom by Kayla Cash Dilts, Emelia Rose Hammell, Ellen Ripley Serfin, Eilan Reid Hammell, Samantha Carter Serfin and Nicholas David El-Khouri. She is also survived by her sister Lillian Swift of North Carolina.
During the times of caring for her beautiful family Doris also loved to go with her family to Bingo and Atlantic City. She was heavily involved and active in Grace St. Paul's church in Hamilton and then joined St. Stephen's Episcopal church in Whiting. Doris was a member of the Bordentown Elks for many years and loved their yearly conventions and parades in Wildwood.
Services for Doris will be held on June 21, 2023. A public visitation at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home Whiting, NJ from 11:00 - 12:00 (noon) followed by a funeral Service at 12:00 (noon) led by Fr. Paul Vansant from St. Stephens Episcopal Church. A burial will follow at the Brig General William C Doyle Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ where she will be laid to rest with her Husband John. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donation be made to the following charities; Tunnel to Towers www.t2t.org, Wounded Warriors www.support.woundedwarriorproject.org, and Alzheimers Research www.act.alz.org
