Betty grew up in Staten Island, residing mostly in Westerleigh before moving to Whiting NJ after the passing of her late husband, Robert J. Mcquillan III in 2006.
Betty graduated from Curtis High School (which she still has her sweatshirt from in perfect condition), was a member of Holy Family Parish. Betty was a home maker and her greatest joy was her family.
Betty loved to be out with friends from the past, and the new friends from her community. She had a huge heart, loved to dance and was always there to offer help. Bocci was her game of choice, decorating and making a house a home was a great enjoyment. She enjoyed all of the years with the friends from the FDNY, who still meet for lunch.
After the devasting death of her son Lance Cpl Robert J. McQuillan in 1988 her happiness became her grandchildren Samantha, Albany and Nicholas. Mom who became grandma was lucky enough to become GIGI to her great grandchildren Hailey and Joseph.
Rest in Peace Mom, you are with Bobby now. Know how much you were loved and will be missed.
Betty leaves behind her daughter Kelly Stafford, son in law Ronald. 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, grandson in law, 2 nephews and 1 niece.
Betty was predeceased by husband Robert J. McQuillan III, son Lance Cpl. Robert J. McQuillan. Sister Kathy Reilly, brother James Reilly III. Parents James and Lucille Reilly.
