

AIrene Ruth Bonstein of Whiting, New Jersey, passed on to her new life on February 4, 2014. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Irene was 99 years old and had resided at the AristaCare Nursing facility in Whiting for seven years.
Irene Ruth Bonstein was born on April 23, 1914 in Rimerton, Pennsylvania. She attended Kittanning High School, and married Eugene Perrin Bonstein on December 25, 1934.
She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene, in 1987, and is survived by her two children, Carole Luke and Eugene P. Bonstein, Jr. She has seven grandchildren (Jennifer Khoury, Laura Luke, Christine Fletcher, Karen Welch, Cora Pedrazzi, Kimberly Campbell, and Terry Young) and 15 great grandchildren, ranging in age from 23 to two.
Irene was a wonderful musician, serving as organist in her home church in Rimerton, Pennsylvania, when she was in high school. She delighted family and friends with piano selections that ranged from classical Chopin to ragtime. Family gatherings and reunions usually included sing-a-longs and hilarious games of “name that tune”.
She will be long remembered.
Visitation will be Friday, February 14, from 12-1:00 p.m. at the Anderson-Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd., Whiting. Services will be graveside at 1:30pm at Whiting Memorial Park, 600 Rt 530, Whiting.
