Sanitation Worker for the city of New York or many years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Cona (nee Vassalb) in 2006. Surviving are his daughters Linda & husband Richard of Staten Island, NY and Diane Smerina of Staten Island, NY; Grandchildren Tara & husband John Raimondi, Rich and wife Heather Polizzi, David & wife Stacey Smerina, Amber Smerina and Jonathon Smerina; Four Great Grandchildren; Sisters Jean Avenoso, Madeline Peluso and Faye Matranga.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Road, Whiting, NJ 08759. A graveside service will be officiated by Fr. Paul Vansant of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church of Whiting on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 10:30am at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, U.S. Hwy No. 1, Woodbridge, NJ followed by an emtombment.
