Luis Antonio Muniz

Luis Antonio Muniz, 94, of Whiting, NJ, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Luis, born and raised in Penuelas, Puerto Rico, came to America in 1948. He worked in New York City as a Porter and Window Washer. Afterward, he attended a mission where he met his wife Lydia, the pianist, and began teaching Spanish bible classes. They married in 1953 and moved to Jersey City in 1957 where Luis started a Spanish mission.

They moved to Whiting in 1989 and became members of OCEF Church, Crossroads Baptist Church-Lakehurst and lastly Luis loved attending Solid Rock Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, reading books especially the Bible and meeting new people.

Luis was predeceased by his wife Lydia in 2011; his brother Jeronimo; sister, Julia; and granddaughter, Elaina Marie. He is survived by his 4 sons, L. Daniel, David J., Nathan E., and Peter L.; and his grandson, John James.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 4-7pm at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting, NJ. Funeral Services will be at 6:30pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 1pm at Maple Grove Cemetery in Queens, NY.
