Marian H. Smith

Marian Dorothy Hautz Smith, 90, of Whiting, NJ, passed into the presence of her Lord Wednesday, January 8, 2014. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Mrs. Smith grew up in Collingswood, NJ. She graduated from Collingswood High School in 1941, and from Drexel University in 1946. In 1948, she married Chester Willis Smith, Jr. Formerly from Middletown, NJ, Mrs. Smith was a homemaker for many years and also worked at Brookdale Community College. Her church memberships included FBC Toms River; FBC Asbury Park; Lincroft Bible Church; and Midway Presbyterian Church, Powder Springs, GA. Her greatest desire in life was to serve her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to Honor Him.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Chester W. Smith, Jr. as well as her sister, Jeanne Wood, and her parents Charles and Alice Betchner Hautz. Survivors include one son, Jeffrey W. Smith and wife, Ellen of Winnetka, IL; and two daughters, Marilyn Beltle and husband Allen of Brick, NJ and Nancy Hoover and husband, Alvin of Brookhaven, MS; eleven grandchildren; and five nephews.

The Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 9:30am until funeral Services begin at 10:30am at America's Keswick, Whiting, NJ with Dr. Bill Welte officiating. A private internment will be at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request considering a contribution to America's Keswick, 601 Rt. 530, Whiting, NJ 08759-3599. Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd.
