Stephen Michael Berwanger

Stephen Michael Berwanger, age 75, of Whiting, New Jersey passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026 at his home. Steve was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Ridgewood, Queens where he later raised his own family. He worked as the Credit Manager for Roland Foods for 30 years. He received the Associate Award from the New York Institute of Credit.

Steve was a lifetime member of the Boys Scouts of America where he served as Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, and District Commissioner. He has been on the Board of Trustees of Crestwood Village Five for several years and served as President for the last four years. He was a CPR/First Aid Instructor for 17 years. Steve loved ancestry, leather making, stamps, boy scouts, and traveling specifically cruising. He enjoyed watching his New York Yankees and was fluent in the language of sarcasm. He will be dearly missed.

Steve was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Diane Berwanger; his parents, Stephen and Alice Berwanger, and his sister, Barbara Jost. He is survived by his three children, Michael, Joyce and James; his two grandchildren, Cora and Clint; his sister, Stephanie and brother, Joseph. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.

A visitation for Stephen will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Road, Whiting, NJ 08759, followed by a visitation from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
