Thomas C. DeLillo

Thomas C. DeLillo, 97, of Whiting NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at home. Tom as born Gaetano Cono DeLillo in 1926 to Nicola and Marianna DeLillo. He was raised in Brooklyn, NY. Tom proudly served in the United States Army during World War II, and he worked for the New York City Transit authority for 34 years as a train mechanic.

Tom lived in Whiting, NJ for the past 20 years with his lifelong partner, Jean. At any time during the day, you could find Tom listening to his AM radio or reading the latest newspaper. He loved playing the accordion, riding his bike and going for walks around his community, and spending time with his family. Tom also loved to travel with Jean, they enjoyed many days at Shea stadium cheering on the NY Mets, and many evenings at the opera. Tom will be dearly missed.

Tom was predeceased by his siblings, Cono DeLillo and his wife Catherine; Ronnie Accetta and her husband Michael; Vincent (Jimmy) DeLillo; and his niece Marianne. He is survived by his partner, Jean; her two daughters, Mary Spallina and her husband Joe; Francine Brehm and her husband Brian; and their children; Melissa Amato, her husband Matteo and their children; Toni Boos, her husband Lee and their children; Breana Doyle and her husband David; Caitlyn Brehm and Dylan Brehm. He is also survived by his nephews and nieces; Patrick and his wife Dee; Nicholas; Lorraine and her husband Larry; Barbara and her husband Jim; Jody; Marianne’s husband Michael, and their families.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 2-6pm at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 10:45am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church All Saints Chapel, 30 Schoolhouse Rd. Whiting, NJ. The burial will follow at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tom’s memory can be made to the charity of your choice.
