

William Scott Miller, 99, of the Whiting section of Manchester Twp., passed away peacefully on Monday June 6 at home surrounded by family. He was a US Navy Veteran of WW II. He became a Food Handler and was a butcher for Finest Supermarkets in Union, for 35 years retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Lacey Elks Lodge 2518; The D.A.V. , NJ Chapter 81; and the John Wesley Taylor American Legion Post 232, Barnegat. He was an avid fisherman. Born in East Orange, he resided there, Newark and Union before retiring to Forked River. He moved to Whiting in 2014.
He is predeceased by his wife the Late Eleanor M. Miller of 56 years in 2007. He is also predeceased by his son, the Late William Scott Miller, Jr. in 1997. Surviving is his daughter, Gale Sonnentag and her husband William. William also leaves his grandchildren, Jennifer Taylor and her husband Cody, Eric Sonnentag, William F. Miller and Chelsea Hammond, and his greatgrandchildren, Christian, Joshua, and Matthew Taylor, and Bianca and Summer Hammond.
Friends may call on Thursday, from 7-9pm at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting. Funeral Services to include Military Honors will Friday, June 10 at 10:30am from the Chapel at the Brig Gen Wm.C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown.
