

Alice N. Buckmaster, 88, of Wichita Falls passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Highland Heights Baptist Church, 3003 York St. with Chad Stubblefield officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at Eakly, Oklahoma Cemetery at 3:30 Saturday afternoon. Visitation will be from 6:30 until 7:30 Friday evening at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Mrs. Buckmaster was born on October 18, 1922 to David H. Smith and Pearl (Oglesby) Smith in Colony, Oklahoma. She married Henry J. “Buck” Buckmaster on July 19, 1941 in Cordell, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death in 2008. Mrs. Buckmaster was a resident of Wichita Falls for over 50 years and was a member of Highland Heights Baptist Church. She was a sales representative for Avon Products for 50 years until retiring shortly after “Buck’s” death. During that time, Alice received numerous company awards and honors from Avon for her outstanding sales records and achievements, including being inducted into the President’s Club. Even as she tried to retire, the company still sought her out due to her experience and dedication.
Mrs. Buckmaster is survived by her children, Wayne Buckmaster, Temple, Tx., Frances Mote and husband, A. V., Wichita Falls, Ferrill Buckmaster and wife, Jan, Temple, Tx. And Daryle Buckmaster and wife, Linda, Wichita Falls; sister, Lavell Thomas, Pioneer, Ca., brother, Ernest Smith of Colorado; 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Alice was also preceded in death by a daughter, Deanna Joy Buckmaster, two great grandsons and a brother, Preston Smith of Wichita Falls.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
