

She was born April 7, 1931 in Stockton, Kansas, the daughter of Maude Irene (Waugh) and Charles Carroll Pratt. She graduated from Stockton High School in Stockton, Kansas in 1949.
She worked as a switchboard operator in Stockton, Kansas following graduation from high school. On June 2, 1950, she and John Robert Paulson were married at the United Methodist Parsonage in Stockton, Kansas. Her husband was drafted and went into the United States Air Force in 1951 and was discharged in the fall of 1955. Neither was able to find work in Kansas. The service had taken them to Wichita Falls, Texas and they decided to make their home in Wichita Falls, Texas.
She worked at a variety store, Texas State Optical and as a switchboard operator at the Wichita Falls Cab Company before quitting to become a full time homemaker and mother. Her hobbies included word search puzzles, competing while watching the “Wheel of Fortune,” and watching westerns with her husband. She enjoyed shopping with her daughter, LeAnn Ray. She loved playing with her grandchildren as well as playing cards with her grandson, Brandon Eakins. She enjoyed it when her granddaughter, Jennifer Bigbie, did her hair and makeup. She lived for Saturdays when the whole family got together for food and fellowship.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 71 years, John Paulson and her brother, Kenneth Kendale Pratt.
Surviving family include her son, Steven Paulson and wife, Kathy Paulson, daughters, Diane Eakins and husband, Michael Eakins and LeAnn Ray and her husband, Billy Ray all of Wichita Falls, Texas, grandchildren, Charles Paulson and his wife, Heather Paulson of Fulshear, Texas, Jason Paulson and his wife, Terri Paulson, Kristie Boswell and her husband, Blane Boswell, Jennifer Bigbie and her husband, Richard Bigbie and Brandon Eakins all of Wichita Falls, Texas, great-grandchildren, Christopher Paulson of Wichita Falls, Texas, Hadley Paulson of Lubbock, Texas and Cooper Boswell of Wichita Falls, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Monday, October 11, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Memorial Park, 1917 Archer City Highway, Wichita Falls, Texas 76302.
Memorials may be given to St. Marks United Methodist Church, 4319 McNiel Avenue, Wichita Falls, Texas 76308, in her honor.
