

Bill “Papa” Charles Prince Sr. went to be with our Lord and Savior on February 20, 2022, at the age of 83. Bill “Papa” was born to Henry Sloan and Beulah Prince in Carbon, Oklahoma on May 17, 1938. He later moved to California where he spent most of his childhood and adult life. Upon retiring, Bill “Papa” moved to Pahrump, Nevada where he spent his next 25 years near his brother and playing music with his friends. In 2014, he moved to Wichita Falls, Texas to spend his remaining years with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren whom he loved tremendously.
Bill “Papa” is survived by his daughters, Tonja Link of Wichita Falls, Texas and Tina Petit and husband Mike of Archer City, Texas; his son, Bill Charles Prince Jr. of Wichita Falls, Texas; and his daughter, Trena McGinn and husband James of Iowa Park, Texas; seven grandchildren; Michael Hebert Jr, Aaron Hebert, Donovan Schultz Jr., Dawnelle Fonville, Amber Garcia, Ashiely Sullivan, and Alissa Herman; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers; Wilburn Prince of Pahrump, Nevada and Henry Prince of Bakersfield, California; and one sister; Linda Doyle of Bakersfield, California.
Bill “Papa” grew up in a musically inclined family where he taught himself how to play the guitar and banjo. He spent every available weekend playing music in the living rooms of his family members, leaving many wonderful memories behind for his children to share with their children throughout the decades to come.
Bill “Papa” was known for his selflessness, kindness, generosity, and patience. When he loved, he loved unconditionally and with his whole heart. Bill “Papa” showed his undying love for Jesus when he was baptized at the age of 80 years. He was a devoted Christian who loved our Lord and is now continuing his faith into eternity.
A funeral service for Bill will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home Chapel, 1917 Archer City Highway, Wichita Falls, Texas with a Celebration of Life immediately following. Family will gather at Bill’s home following the service and Celebration of Life.
