
B. L. “Beefus” Bryans, 88, longtime resident of the Wichita Falls area passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 in a hospital near his home in Colorado. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Crestview Memorial Park in the Court of Flowers section, Reverend Merwyn Turner officiating.
Mr. Bryans was born October 5, 1925 in Wichita Falls to Byron Lee Bryans, Sr. and Anna Amanda (Byman) Bryans. He lived in the area for many years, graduating from Stamford High School. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and came back to Wichita Falls and graduated from Hardin College (now Midwestern State University). Beefus married Mary Jo Wilder June 18, 1949 in Wichita Falls. They both were members of Floral Heights United Methodist Church. He and Mary Jo moved to the Denver, Colorado area in 1978. Beefus was a longtime employee of Wichita River Oil Corp., serving as Treasurer until his retirement in 1988.
Mr. Bryans was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Mary Jo in 2004 and a daughter, Laura Bryans. He is survived by his children, Rebecca Bryans Powell and her husband, Don of Westminster, CO and Bradley Bryans and wife, Debbie of Katy, TX; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The family will be receiving guests at Homewood Suites, 2675 Plaza Parkway (off of Maplewood Drive) after the funeral service.
