Dan Micheal Pickett died at home on January 23, 2013 surrounded by his family. Services will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home. A viewing will be available before the service begins. He was born on September 25, 1941 to Dan and Lucille (Ayres) Pickett in Wichita Falls, Tx. He attended school in Archer City, Tx.
He graduated from North Texas State University in 1964. He retired from Wichita Falls ISD after serving as an Industrial Arts teacher, Vocational supervisor, Principal at Harrell Center and vice principal at Rider High School. He was employed at Sealed Air.
He loved fishing and the country life he shared with his wife Blanche Pickett. He is survived by his wife and children Damon Pickett and wife Lisa, Danni Jacobs and husband Clay, Mark Bridgeford, and Beth Akbulut who proceeded him in death, Ilker Akbulut and wife Tulay. He is survived by his grandchildren Mandi Pickett, Amber Pickett, Ben Bridgeford, Rachel Jacobs, Nilufer and Mete Akbulut.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
