Dewey "Mike" Moore

He was of the Christian Baptist faith and had previously attended Shasta Baptist Church of Wichita Falls.

Born in Wichita Falls, Texas on July 1, 1944, the third of 6 children, Mr. Moore had been a construction laborer on several North Texas area landmarks such as the City National Bank Building, the PPG Industries glass manufacturing facility, U.S. Postal Service's Mornigside Office located on Seymour Highway in Wichita Falls and the Oklaunion Power Supply Station outside Vernon, Texas

In addition to his construction background, Mr. Moore often found employment as an automotive mechanic and reputable salesman with local automotive businesses such as McGinty Tire Company and Danny Foix's Service Center. He also owned and operated several automotive service station businesses in the area as well over the years, which included an Exxon, a Kerr McGee location at 10th Street and Hayes, and the Beverly Tire Shop.. Mike Moore's last such business was a Fina station, formerly located at 9th Street at Brook Avenue in Wichita Falls. Upon leaving the service station industry, Mike Moore was last employed by Richard Leach Trucking Company as a contract delivery driver until 2009.

.An avid sportsman, Mr. Moore had been a former member of the North Texas Field & Stream Association..He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed watching his two favorite professional sports teams, The Dallas Cowboys and The Texas Rangers.

Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Bettie Moore, his two sons Michael Moore and John Messer, his sister Anne Posey, a granddaughter Judy Crawford, and a great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his father Henry Edward "Ed" Moore and his mother Tommie Moore, his brothers Lonnie, Charles, and Floyd. as well as his sister Sandra.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harvey McMurray officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
