Donna Ray Ash

Donna Ray Jones Ash, 79, died peacefully at her home in North Archer County on Thursday, November 13, 2014. Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, November 17, 2014 in the Magnolia Garden of Crestview Memorial Park, Reverend Andy Graham officiating, under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home. No visitation is scheduled.

Mrs. Ash was born February 20, 1935 in Wichita Falls to Ray and Alvessia (Baker) Jones. She graduated Wichita Falls High School in 1953. She married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Donald Ash on June 20, 1953. They lived in several places such as Maryland and El Paso, TX due to Donald’s service in The United States Army. They eventually moved back to Wichita Falls in 1955. In addition to raising her three children, Donna was very involved in the family farming and ranching activities throughout her life. She loved horses and had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs.

Mrs. Ash was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 52 years, Donald Ash.

Donna is survived by her children, James Ray Ash and wife Jan, Janice Sons and husband James, and Jeffrey Ash and wife Audrey. She was also the proud ‘Mimi’ of eight grandchildren; Jessica Ash Toliver and husband Jeffrey, Deborah Ash, Larry Ash, Jamie Sons, Justin Sons and wife Jessica, Jordan Sons, Carlie Ash, and Kendall Ash.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 901 Indiana, Wichita Falls, TX 76301.
