

Graveside services with military honors will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Crestview Memorial Park.
Gary was born on May 11, 1944 in Missoula, Montana to J. C. and Ida Herneng Parsons. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years and married Peggy Sue Parsons on September 19, 1981 in Loveland, Colorado. He and Peggy lived in Colorado before moving to Allen 26 years ago. Gary was a history teacher with a Master’s Degree and he taught in the Allen ISD for 10 years. He loved history and was regarded as a historian. His other passions were gun collecting, being a devoted pastor to his congregation, his love for his family and animals and he was an enthusiastic patriot of our United States. He was very devoted to God. He was preceded in death by his wife: Peggy Sue Parsons earlier this year and his step-son: David Sloan.
Survivors include his children: Randy Parsons and wife: Victoria of Denver, Colorado, Charles Sloan of Denton, and Donna Meineke and husband Don of Denver, Colorado; sisters: Joyce Parsons of Idaho and Judy Dabai of California; brother: Ron Parsons of Washington; grandchildren: Alexis Parsons, Randy Parsons, Vanessa Parsons, Nathan Meineke, and Virginia Dietz; and a nephew: Ian Parsons of Seattle, Washington.
