

George M. Bacon, 75 of Huntsville, recently of Denton, passed away on September 15, 2011 in Denton, TX. He was born on June 10, 1936 in the Dexter Community, Cooke County, TX to the late George W. Bacon and Lucille McKenzie Bacon. He lived several years in Wichita Falls, graduating from Wichita Falls High School. George married Beverly J. Geyman on February 18, 1961 in Wichita Falls. He was a pilot for Eastern Airlines where he retired from in 1989.
He was a man of good faith and had a very generous and giving spirit; a wonderful husband and dad. George was an avid Sam Houston State University and Huntsville Hornets fan where he loved to volunteer. He was a member of the Airline Pilots Association. He was affectionately known to his grandchildren as PawPaw Pork and attended his grandchildren’s football game the Friday before his death and had a sense of humor until his passing.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Geyman Bacon; children, Kimberly Bacon Willey and husband Marshall of Huntsville and Missy Bacon DeSpain and husband Bill of Argyle; 7 grandchildren, Mandee Lee, Marshall Willey, Jr., Macee Willey, Will DeSpain, Connor DeSpain, Claire DeSpain and Patrick DeSpain; one great granddaughter, Maryn Lee; one brother, Roger Bacon and wife Kay; one sister, Judy Bacon Whitmire; sister-in-law, Sherri Mudge and husband Ken; brother-in-law, Doug Wietbrock; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Jan Bacon Barnes.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the Crestview Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Rev. Reggie Coe officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation was held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday evening at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
