

Morris Lemmond, 74, of Wichita Falls passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, August 12, 2011 at Lamar Baptist Church, 1100 Harrison St. with Dr. Mike Roberson officiating. Visitation will be from 6:30 until 8:00 Thursday evening at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Mr. Lemmond was born January 14, 1937 in Charlotte, NC to the late William Frank Lemmond and Marion (Morris) Lemmond. He graduated high school in North Carolina and soon entered into the United States Air Force in 1955. He proudly served as a Medical Illustrator and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1977. He married Nancy Belcher in Atwater, CA on December 26, 1956 and they eventually located their family in Wichita Falls in 1972. Morris was a member of Lamar Baptist Church and was a member of the choir there. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of Maskat Shrine Temple. After retirement, he continued as a freelance artist and operated his own signage business. He was a lifetime member of the Wichita Falls Stamp and Coin Club and was an avid lapel pin collector. Morris believed his biggest accomplishment was that of being a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors are his wife, Nancy; children, Linda Dixon and husband, Bill of Wichita Falls, David Lemmond and wife, Marcia of New York and Brian Lemmond of Wichita Falls; sisters, Carol Gier and Patsy Coker; brother, Bill Lemmond, all of North Carolina; grandchildren, Shawn David, Nancy Christine and Julie Ann Lemmond and Jenna and Logan Dixon.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Rd. 76310 or to Wichita Christian School, P.O. Box 5168, Wichita Falls 76307.
