

Rus was a courageous man who triumphed over the challenges of cancer as a child and inspired us all throughout his life. He worked for Work Services Corporation for over 20 years, garnering many awards and retired as a well decorated employee.
His unwavering strength, resilience and positive spirit served as a beacon of light for those fortunate enough to know him. He touched countless lives with his determination and grace, reminding us that even in the face of adversity there is beauty and strength in the human spirit.
Rus loved fishing, camping, playing old school video games, watching his favorite TV shows and spending time with his family. He knew no enemies and was a lifelong friend to the world. His smile alone could light up any room. His legacy of grace, courage, bravery, and ability to find joy and positivity in every moment will forever live on in our hearts.
His journey is a testament to the power of human will and the importance of cherishing every precious day. Rus is survived by his parents, Greg and Lorraine (Bell) Russell; his sister, Adrienne, and her partner Perrin; his brother, Andre, and his partner Amanda; his niece Kaelen, and nephews, Amari, Anson and Jakob; his guardians from birth, Uncles Clifton Russell and Vincent D Butler; Jack Gentry and Desiree Linson Gentry; the Bells, the Washingtons, the Watsons, the Gwynns, the Butlers, and the Gaines, as well as a vast extended family whom he loved very much.
A visitation will be held Monday, August 14, 2023 at 10:00 AM, with remarks from friends and family starting at 10:45 AM followed by a graveside at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home, 1917 Archer City Highway, Wichita Falls, Texas. After the graveside, attendees are welcome to join the family for a lunch reception at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
