He is buried in Crestview Memorial Park. The website notes that he was from Hawley, Texas. Greg was born there and attended school there before he went into the US Air Force. He settled in Wichita Falls upon leaving the service in 1998. Greg graduated summa cum laude from Midwestern State University with a 4.0 GPA receiving the President's Medal.
Greg met former Wichita County District Attorney Maureen Shelton while attending college. She encouraged him to apply for an investigator job with the district attorney's office. Greg applied and got the job. He served as an investigator for the Wichita County District Attorney for 20 years. He retired and then worked as a police officer for Vernon College. Greg enjoyed working for Vernon College, and I am so thankful for his coworkers, Vernon College administration and staff. We were treated as family by everyone at Vernon College, and they have gone above and beyond to care for our family even to this day.
Greg lived in Wichita Falls for over 23 years. He considered Wichita Falls his home. We met in 2006 through mutual friends who were local attorneys, and we married in 2008. In 2016, God blessed us with Graeme, our son. Our family is and will always be the greatest blessing.
Greg was brilliant and would have won many a battle of wits but he preferred not to engage with unarmed persons. Greg was a loyal person and demanded the same from those to whom he was loyal. He knew how to forgive without forgetting all while maintaining his integrity. He is loved by many of which I am one.
Greg, you are the love of my life. I will make certain Graeme will know Greg and his Young family.
