

Funeral services will are officiated by Reverend Bill Pursley from Emmanuel Baptist Church and arrangements are under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home. Burial will be at Crestview Memorial Park.
Mr. Collins was born on April 26, 1930, in Banner, Arkansas, to Floyd and Alma Pettus Collins. He graduated from Maynard High School in May, 1948 and enlisted in the United States Air Force in June, 1948. He Married Freda Mae Akins on December 14, 1950.
Mr. Collins served his country for over 23 years including field assignments to Korea, Vietnam, Japan, and Thailand. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked as Chief Engineer of Maintenance at City National Bank for 10 years. Mr. Collins fulfilled his dream of owning a Harley Davidson Motorcycle and traveling the country with his son, Mike, and son-in-law, Dennis, and other fellow Harley owner’s group members. Jim and Freda loved to go camping in their RV and were able to take their grandchildren on many memorable summer camping trips. Mr. Collins was a long time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Collins.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Freda Collins, his son Mike Collins and wife Janis, of Wichita Falls, his daughter Vickie Rainey and husband Dennis of Altus, OK, his grandsons Chad Collins and wife Becky of Bedford, TX, and Tyler Rainey and wife Brittany of Yukon, OK, his granddaughter Chelsea Powell and husband Bryan of Weatherford, OK, and his great-granddaughter Kaitlyn Rainey. Other survivors include his brothers Tom Collins and wife Betty of Pocahontas, AR, and Phil Collins and wife Carolyn of Paragould, AR, his sisters Louise Burcham and husband Everett of Sand Springs, OK, Bonnie Cook and husband Bob of Paragould, AR, and Bonnie Collins of Pocahontas, AR, along with several other family members.
