Maria A Dorantes

Alicia R. Dorantes, 90, of Wichita Falls went home to the Lord Wednesday, March 12, 2014. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Sojan George, Celebrant. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 Friday evening at Hampton Vaughan with a Christian Wake to begin at 7:00 PM, Deacon Vincent Blake officiating.

Mrs. Dorantes was born March 23, 1923 in Shafter, TX to Melton Ramirez and Manuela (Valdez) Ramirez. Alicia was a great and loving mother and grandmother to all. She touched the heart of everyone and will be greatly missed.

She goes to join those preceding her including her parents; husband, Daniel Dorantes; brothers, Tony, Edward and Alonzo; sisters, Jesusita and Cleopatra.

Surviving are her children, Angelina “Angie” Gutierrez and husband Danny of Wichita Falls, Abelardito Carrasco and wife Mary Jane, Elida Alcala and husband Frank, all of Santa Fe, TX and Steve Carrasco and wife Tammy of Wichita Falls; brother, Armando Ramirez and wife Gloria; 14 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Robert Gutierrez, Carlos Carrasco, Julian Carrasco, Ryan Carrasco, David Martinez and Andrew Carrasco.

The family would like to give thanks to Hospice of Wichita Falls and United Regional Hospital for all of their help and prayers.
