Mary Craig

Born Mary Lois Arney in Limestone County, Texas, Mary attended school in Groesbeck, then graduated high school in Dallas. She worked as office staff for an insurance company in Dallas when she met Frank Craig, an engineering student.

They were married January 4, 1947 and remained devoted to one another until Frank passed in 2007.

They lived in Dallas until moving to Wichita Falls in 1955, having three children along the way; Martha, Cathleen and Mark Arney. They became very active members of Fain Presbyterian Church, becoming close friends with many there. They enjoyed travel throughout the United States with their three children, and playing bridge with their friends. Mary also graduated from Midwestern University, and went on to a teaching career for many years at Hirschi High. This helped put their three children through college.

They moved to Presbyterian Manor when Frank developed Alzheimer’s disease. The family wishes to thank the staff of Presbyterian Manor for their loving and abundant care.

She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Martha, husband Frank, and her four siblings. She is survived by Cathleen and Mark, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A graveside service for family only will be held Thursday. A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held Friday, April 14, 2-4 pm at Presbyterian Manor.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, for those who wish to remember Mary, the family suggests a gift to Presbyterian Manor of Wichita Falls, or Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
