

Mary Lindon Ladyman, 91, of Wichita Falls passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 14, 2014 in Crestview Memorial Park, Garden of Cross West with Reverend Tommy Bragg officiating and under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:30 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ladyman was born December 3, 1922 in Blossom, TX to Clifton W. Barrett and Minnie (Creamer) Barrett and was the youngest to three other siblings. She was raised on a farm learning how to grow crops and tend to gardening. She loved the outdoors growing all different kinds of flowers. She attended Paris, TX High School, joined the Latin Club and graduated with honors in 1941. Mary got a job at Kress Dept. Store and also worked in sales for three years. One of her favorite things was doing mission work and participating in church activities and teaching the youth. She became a leader of the G.A.’s and was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.
Mary married James E. Ladyman August 24, `1942 in Paris and together raised three children, Jerry, Bobby and Susan. She became a homemaker having a routine of washing clothes on Monday, ironing on Tuesday and then Wednesday would be Piggly Wiggly Day. She also enjoyed sewing, making clothes for the children and for herself. She later enjoyed visits from friends and family and loved to hear stories about her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also liked getting dressed up in one of her homemade dresses on a nice, warm day and getting her hair styled in pin curls at the salon. Mary and James were faithful members of First Baptist Church of Lakeside City.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James who died November 10, 2013; a sister, Nell Haskins, and brothers, Laverne and Earl Barrett.
Survivors are her children, Jerry Edward Ladyman, Bobby J. Ladyman and wife Anne and Susan Van Huss and husband Dan Haile, all of Wichita Falls; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; nephews Jeff Haskins of Wichita Falls and James David Isbell and wife Jean of DeKalb, TX.
