Matthew Wesley, Jr., 85, of Wichita Falls died Saturday, April 7, 2012. Services have been scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church officiated by Reverend Robert M. Castle. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
Matthew was born September 19, 1926 in Cameron, TX to Matthew, Sr. and Katherine Porter Wesley. He did custodial and maintenance work for the City of Wichita Falls. Matthew was a dedicated member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board, and cooked for the children and for funerals.
Mr. Wesley is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bertha A. Wesley; son, Ronnie Lynn Wesley; father, Matthew Wesley, Sr.; mother, Katherine Tillery; brother, Robert Lee Wesley; and sister, Belzora Staples.
Survivors include his children and daughters-in-law, Matthew and Mozelle Wesley, III of Wichita Falls, Kathy L. Gildon of DeSoto, TX, Terry O. and Rose Wesley of Austin, TX; fifteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, April 13, 2012 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
