Melba Elizabeth Gentry

Melba Elizabeth Gentry, 92, passed through the Gates of Heaven on Monday, August 8, 2011 where she walked into the arms of her Heavenly Father and loving husband of 70 years, G. C. Gentry. She had been living in Ranchwood Nursing Center in Yukon, OK for just over 2 years at the time of her death. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 11, 2011 at First Church of the Nazarene, 1667 Kell Blvd. with Allen Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Gentry was born December 24, 1918 to the late Lucien and Mattie Pratt in Wichita Falls, TX. Melba and G.C. were married February 13, 1937 in Grandfield, Oklahoma and established their life’s home in Wichita Falls. Melba and G. C. gave birth to daughters Peggy, Patricia (Patsy) and Paula and were life long members of First Church of the Nazarene. She was employed by McClurkans and Perkin’s Department Stores. Melba was also preceded in death a sister, Peggy Kelley and brothers, Dennis Pratt and Billy Pratt.

Survivors are a brother, Kenneth Pratt and wife, Pat of Banning, CA; sister-in-law, Kay Pratt of Callisburg, TX; special friend, Loveta Ravize and husband, Paul of Garden Grove, CA; daughters, Peggy Elizabeth Schroeder and husband, Curtis of Yukon, OK, Patricia Ann Gentry Brown of Austin, TX, and Paula Jeanette Musgrave and husband, Joe of Burkburnett, TX; grandchildren, Falecia Carpenter and husband, Keith, Rhonda Dennis and husband, J.C., Steve Johnson and wife Christine and Craig Szczepinski and partner, Melanie; great- great grandchildren, Trey, Zachary, Taylor, Justin, Abby, Quinn, Kathrine and Seth.
