

Melba Jean McShan, aged 80, died Sunday, June 16, 2024, in Dallas. Funeral services will be held at Thursday, June 20, at 10:00 am at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
Born on July 4, 1943, in Vernon, Texas, to Claude and Isa Lee Street, Melba’s independence and strength were apparent from a young age. She grew up in Vernon before moving to Wichita Falls, where she began her own family and established deep roots in the community. As the owner of McShan's Auto Service, Melba was a familiar and trusted figure in Wichita Falls, known for her integrity, generosity, and dedication.
In 1964, she married, Arnold McShan in Dallas. Together, they built a loving family and a legacy of hard work and commitment. Melba's home was filled with laughter, love, and the aroma of her famous pecan pies and enchiladas.
Melba will be remembered for her quick wit, infectious smile, and love of life. A passionate reader, she often found solace and joy in books. But her greatest love was her family.
Preceding Melba in death were her beloved son Shannon McShan, parents Claude and Isa Lee Street, and brothers Everett Street and Travis Street.
She leaves behind children: son Steve McShan; daughter Tracy McShan and husband Dean Cowell of Dallas; and son Brannon McShan and wife Nicole of Kensington, MD. She is also survived by her sister Lisa and husband C.J. of Iowa Park. Melba was a proud grandmother to grandchildren, David, Stony, Stacy, Jordan, and Delaney, and great-grandmother to Colby and Rylan.
Melba’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She leaves a legacy of love, resilience, and an unwavering spirit.
