Myers Allen Ryder

Myers Allen Ryder, 90, of Wichita Falls passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Bible Baptist Church, Tenth & Austin, with Pastor Mike Rucker officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park, Veterans Garden. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 Friday evening at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.

Mr. Ryder was born August 26, 1924 in Gilliland, TX to the late William E Ryder, Sr. and Lillie (Myers) Ryder. He served in the cavalry of the U. S. Army during World War II. He married Alta Mae Bays on March 7, 1945 in Benjamin, TX and they moved to Wichita Falls in 1956. Mr. Ryder was a member and former Deacon of Bible Baptist Church of Wichita Falls. He was employed by Darr Equpiment in Wichita Falls as a service representative, retiring in 1986 after 30 years with the company. He and Alta were members of the Good Sams RV Club, the Rockin’ Wheels Chapter for many years and loved to travel.

Mr. Ryder was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Bill Ryder, Melvin Ryder and Marvin Ryder; sisters; Faye Jones and Edith Cash.

Survivors are his wife, Alta Mae Ryder; daughters, Vickie Lynn Shawn and husband Ronald of Iowa Park and Deborah Annette LaBelle and husband James of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, Kimberly Spurlock, Greg Shawn, Tracy Shawn, Doug LaBelle and Chad LaBelle; great grandchildren Moriah LaBelle, Caleb LaBelle, Connor LaBelle, Maggie LaBelle and Amber Spurlock.

In lieu of usual remembrances, the family suggests donations to Bible Baptist Church, 908 Austin St., Wichita Falls, TX 76301.
