

Reuben Dan Fuchs, 90, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 in Wichita Falls. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, September 30, 2011 at West Side Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Free, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Rob Fuchs, Andrew Miller, Brandon Pickens, Michael Nix, Mark McCloskey and Mike Shepley.
Reuben was born March 6, 1986 in Jolly, Texas to Jakob and Helen (Diebert) Fuchs. He served his country in the US Army, serving in World War II. He worked as a welder and was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. He loved to work.
Reuben is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Velda (Reaves) Fuchs; four sisters, Mary Singleton, Christine Hawkins, Helen Hull, and Emma Ulrey; three brothers, Fred Fuchs, Phillip Fuchs, and John Fuchs; and one son-in-law, Ray Shatwell.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Cloris (Russell) Fuchs of Wichita Falls; four children, Betty Shatwell of Wichita Falls, Jack Fuchs and his wife, Barbara of Bentonville, Arkansas; Vickie Pickens and her husband, Wesley of Wichita Falls; and Angla Miller and her husband, Steve of Wichita Falls; two step-sons, Henry “Fred” Ragland of Houston, Texas and James “Jim” Ragland and his wife, Cindy of Birmingham, Alabama; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 3 step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls or to the West Side Baptist Church.
