Ricardo Paul DeLeon Sr.

Ricardo Paul “Rick” DeLeon, 34, lifetime resident of Wichita Falls died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at a local hospital. A funeral mass has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 26, 2011 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church officiated by Father John Pacheco. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.

Rick was born November 3, 1976 in Wichita Falls to Rita (Diaz) and Brigido “Joe” DeLeon, Jr. He graduated from Wichita High School and attended Vernon College. Rick was a machinist at Wichita Clutch. He was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where he was in charge of setting up and security for their festivals. He was a coach for his sons’ football teams, the Lions and Coyotes. He was very involved in his children’s lives and was raising them to be good citizens and to respect their church.

Mr. DeLeon is preceded in death by his uncle, Gabe DeLeon.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Angelica DeLeon; daughter, Elissa Velasquez; sons, Ricardo DeLeon, Jr., Julian DeLeon; parents, Joe and Rita DeLeon, Jr.; and brother and sister-in-law, Joe Steven and Jackie DeLeon of Keller, TX.

Visitation will be held 6:00-7:00 p.m. and a vigil at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.

If desired, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
