

Kato’s Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, October 9th, 2021 at the Lakeview Assembly of God, located at 2501 TX-79, Wichita Falls, Tx. Jarrell Kuykendall will be officiating. A “Final” Cruise will take place after the service down highway TX-79 for five minutes in remembrance of his love of hot rods.
Kato was born in Exeter, California to Roy Verden and Bessie Lavern (Jones) Verden on June 2nd, 1949. He went to school in Farmersville, California. He married Kathy Lynn (Jones) Verden on December 17th, 1981. He owned and operated Kato’s Towing as a Tow Truck Driver of Bowie, TX for 25 years. He was involved with the Piston Heads Car Club, a member of Assembly of God and built Classic Cars in his spare time. He is remembered for his big personality, he never knew a stranger. His kindness, generosity, big laugh, smile and love of his family, will never be forgotten.
Kato is proceeded in death by his parents, Roy Verden and Bessie Lavern (Jones) Verden, his siblings, James “Spider” Verden, Frances (Verden) Jones, Margaret (Verden) Davidson, Roy “Junior” Verden, Chester “Whitey” Verden.
Kato is survived by his spouse, Kathy Verden, his children, Tina Stout, Heather Woods, Roy Verden, his Aunt, Bonnie (Jones) Hopkins and grandchildren, Dakota Verden, Ryan Stout, Sydney Stout, Chris Woods, Kerstain Puckett, Kayla Woods and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
