

Samuel L. “Sammi Lee” Vendrick, 62, of Wichita Falls, Texas, slid on his Daisy Dukes, work boots, and Dallas Cowboys cap; strapped on his tool belt and finished his last cup of coffee; cranked up some George Jones and then mounted the scaffold to Heaven to begin his long climb to Jesus during the early morning hours of Friday, July 18, 2014.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00pm, Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Lane family plot of Crestview Memorial Park’s Court of Flowers. Services are under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
A son of the late Clyde Williams and Elizabeth (Lane) Vendrick, Sammi Lee was born on December 21, 1951 in Wichita Falls. A carpenter by trade, he worked in construction during his entire adult life in Austin, Texas, San Antonio, Texas, Phoenix, Arizona and Wichita Falls. A fisherman and avid BBQ-er, Sammi Lee hung up his tools in retirement earlier this year.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter; Lynlee Vendrick, his father; Clyde Williams of Lufkin, Texas, and his brother-in-law; Joe McMahon of Wichita Falls.
Sammi Lee is survived by his wife; Mickey (McMahon) Vendrick of Wichita Falls, His mother; Elizabeth Vendrick of San Antonio, His Sister; Sherri Wilson of
Nocona, Texas, His brother; Michael Vendrick and wife, Denise, of Dan Antonio, His sister-in-law; Cheryl Donaldson and husband, Larry, of Wichita Falls, his sister-in-law; Diane Bradley and husband, Mike, of Leander, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
