Stephen R. Erwin

He was born Stephen Ross Erwin on August 9, 1948, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Ralph and Frances Erwin. He spent his childhood in Wichita Falls and graduated from S.H. Rider High School in 1967. After graduating, he attended Midwestern State University, majoring in business administration. He married Gale Erwin on January 30, 1970. Together they had two children, Robin who was born in 1972 and Bryan in 1975. During their childhoods, the family went on many trips together. Their favorites being cruises to many places around the world. He worked for the Times Record News for almost 19 years. He was also an entrepreneur and owned a beauty supply business with his wife, Gale. For those who knew Steve, they would tell you how much of a people person he was. He never met a stranger. But there was nothing he loved more than spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Stephen is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gale Erwin, his parents, Ralph and Frances Erwin and brother, Lee Erwin.

He leaves behind his daughter Robin Renee Erwin Wells; son Bryan Christopher Erwin and wife Jamie of Fort Worth; grandchildren Abigale Wells, Victoria Erwin Lewis, Emily Erwin Mangas, and Cade Erwin; and two great-grandchildren, Lyric and Anthony Mangas.

A visitation for Stephen will be on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 5-7 PM. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home, 1917 Archer City Highway, Wichita Falls, Texas.
