Steven Dale Gattis

Steven Dale Gattis, 52, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tom Medley of University United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. No formal visitation is scheduled.

Steven was born April 30, 1961 to Joe Dale and Linda (Lee) Gattis. He was a native Wichitan and a proud graduate of Old High School in 1979. Throughout most of his life, Steve coped with the physical limitations and constant pain associated with severe scoliosis. Those who were close to Steve know the great strength he exhibited in living with his afflictions and always showing a smiling face to those around him. Those close to him also know of the great moral strength he exhibited in overcoming personal problems. His later years were spent living alone with his precious dogs and supporting his Mother. He will be missed.

Steve is preceded in death by his father, Joe Dale Gattis in 1994 and a brother Michael in 1996.

He is survived by his loving mother; Linda Gattis, brother; David Gattis, son; Lyndin Gattis and three grandchildren; Aaron, Kaylee and Braden.
