Victor was born on November 16, 1960 in Guayaquil, Ecuador, to Victor Hugo Alvarez and Gloria G. Murillo Cannales. He was a landscaper and loved fishing, boating, soccer, and watching boxing. He earned a black belt in karate as a child. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his companion: Judy Orduna, of Wichita Falls; father: Victor Hugo Alvarez of Ecuador; mother and step-father: Gloria G. Cannales and husband Natividad of Wichita Falls; maternal grandmother: Violeta Murillo of Florida; son: Christopher John Alvarez and wife Christina of Iowa Park; sisters: Lydia King, and Jessica Myers and husband Eric, all of Wichita Falls; brother: Gino Alvarez and wife Lisa of Arizona; grandchildren: Ivan, Baylee, Elijah, and Alyvia; aunts and uncles: Cristobal and Leyla Murillo, Yvonne E. Scott, Freddy-Rocio Carranza, all of Florida, and Manuel Murillo of New York; and many nieces and nephews.
