Wanda enjoyed being a wife, mother, and homemaker for many years. She later worked at a manufacturing facility, Sprague Electric Company in Wichita Falls, for about five years. She also became a Nurse’s Aide and worked at Presbyterian Manor for 15 years. She truly cared for her patients and always went above and beyond for them. The amount of love and compassion she showed for others will always be remembered.
She was a member of the Northwest Assembly of God Church for many years and later became a member of First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls in 2008.
Her hobbies included crocheting, quilting, feeding the birds and hummingbirds, and most of all, gardening and raising beautiful flowers!!! She also had a knack for growing African Violets.
She loved babies and was a kind and thoughtful person with a gentle soul, but she was competitive when it came to board games, such as wahoo and dominoes, which she loved to play with family and friends over the years.
She picked up the sport of bowling and competed on a weekly bowling league. She earned several trophies and was recognized for bowling a 235, which earned her “best game” and a spot in the newspaper for “Top Five Bowling” in the Bowling Roundup.
She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and friends and spoiled everyone with her delicious cooking. She will always be remembered for her loving and nurturing nature and her desire to constantly serve others.
Most importantly, she strived to live a life that was pleasing to the Lord. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her!
The family would like to recognize all of the caregivers throughout the years, who helped care for her as her health declined, including the many wonderful caregivers at The Pines, and most recently the Gables. A very special thank you to Amalia Montgomery, Martha Lugo, Ruth Mendez, Jenny Lou Kent , Martha Rojas, and Patricia Wallace for their exceptional care, love, and never ending compassion for our mother.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Meals On Wheels.
