Pastor, musician and lover of life, David Arinder, Sr. went to be with his Savior on March 11, 2024, at the age of 68, after a day filled with laughter and long talks, surrounded by his loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives well.
David began his ministry life working with his father, Chaplain Lt. Col. Robert Arinder, who would ask David to play the piano for Chapel 2 at Sheppard Air Force Base. He moved into youth ministry initially, using music as a vehicle to reach young people. Soon he moved to full time music ministry and eventually into pastoral counseling. The last several years, he was a certified life coach specializing in relationship issues. He and his family loved all the different and diverse places they were blessed to be (from Dallas to Missouri to Michigan and then back to Missouri). Ministering to those who needed words of wisdom, either in song or across a counseling table, was his life’s work.
His greatest pleasure was being with his children and their children. He loved getting on his motorcycle and heading out on 1,000 mile trips, seeing the country and experiencing whatever nature threw at him. David loved playing ‘name that tune’ anytime he sat down at a piano at home. He was the master of cheesy jokes and keeping the party going, and at the same time could gently get people to open up about their struggles and pain. He never stopped studying, never stopped learning, and never stopped praising his Savior.
David is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carla; his children, daughter Courtney Dimmitt and husband Richard and their two sons, Garrett and Grayson; son David Arinder, Jr. and his wife Caitlin and their son, William David Arinder lll; and son Aaron Arinder and his wife Liz. David is also survived by his mother, Ann Arinder; sister Roberta Graham; sister Beth Phelan and husband Kerry, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. He loved you all!
You can only find your purpose, You can only sing along, As you get your heart in tune, In focus with the Giver of the song. And when the melody of life, Brings the tears into your eyes, You gotta hold on to his promises, He’ll be right by your side.
