Angel Antonio Ferran Jr.

Angel “Tony” Ferran Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at home in Wichita, Kansas. He was born to Angel Antonio Ferran Sr. and Elvira (Ortiz) Ferran on March 28, 1945, in Puerto Rico.

Tony was a member of the Air Force at McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma, Washington. He worked on computers and was a weapons mechanic. While in the military he bumped his head on a plane and still carried the dent it created for the rest of his life. After the military he worked as an engineer at NCR for many years, then worked for Textron as a Planner.

Tony met the love of his life, Charlotte Earleen Engbrecht, during an evening of square dancing with friends. They went to Worlds of Fun for their honeymoon.

Tony loved wood working, camping with his family, all animals and he loved helping others. He was a member of Evidence Church for the past 5 years as an usher. He enjoyed doing odd jobs and projects, such as woodworking and other odd jobs around the church.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Tony Cornejo and Frank Medellin; daughter, Krista Martin and son-in-law, Christopher Gooch. He is survived by his wife, Earleen Ferran; sisters, Gladys Cornejo, Zoraida Medellin, Rosemary (Joseph) Williams; sons, Tim (Fayelynn) Ferran, Angel (Carrie) Ferran III; daughter, Sherry (Bill) Delaney; grandchildren, Brian (Erica) Ferran, Amber Ferran, Isaiah Ferran, Mackenzie Ferran, Ember(Adam) Moore, Geoffrey Schwartz, Dakota (Kirsty) Gooch, Alx (Sarah) Delaney, Laiken (Randy) Nowak, Jaedyn (Jaycob) Koehn, Kalea Gooch and Kaela Gooch; 19 great-grandchildren and his cats, Bridget, Gizmo, Missy and all the other stray cats that he fed and named.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Hwy 54, Wichita, KS 67209. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 14, at 10:00 am at Evidence Church, 11135 W Kellogg Dr, Wichita, KS 67209 with burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
