She met Ivan R "Bill" Frey, Sr. at the airfield in Waco, Texas and they married on Easter Sunday, April 25, 1943. They had 3 children, Ivan Jr., Vivian and Floria. There are 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Since Bill was in the Air Force, they lived in several cities, spending the most time in Phoenix. When he retired, they moved to Norwood, MO and lived there about 5 years, moving to Leavenworth, KS in 1965. They built their retirement home in Winchester, KS and lived there until moving back to Leavenworth in 1991. After Bill passed away on April 25, 1997, Bernice moved to Wichita.
Bernice enjoyed making crafts. She was very active in church work for most of her years.
