He was born in Kansas City, Kansas on September 13, 1954. His childhood in Wichita, Kansas instilled a lifelong passion for cars and sports. He was a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, and Wichita State Shockers and would watch their games and just about any broadcast with a motor every chance he had, often at the same time.
He leaves behind his children Brent Lewis, Jr. (Sarah Lopez) and Chris Lewis (Tara), and his grandchildren Isabel Lewis, Amelia Lewis, Alejandra Lewis Lopez, and Analucia Lewis Lopez. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward Emmett Lewis, Jr. and Janice Allen Lewis.
The family will hold a private celebration. The family asks that donations to Senior Services of Wichita be made instead of flowers or other gifts.
