

This devoted wife and loving mother, believed in taking care of her family and raising her children with the same family values that she held dear. She connected tightly with her beloved family and neighbors, leaving her legacy to the generations that follow.
She was born in La Cygne, KS, to Dean and Fern Boyd on 12 December 1938.
She married, Jerome (Jerry) Rickaby, on November 15, 1958, in the chapel at McConnell AFB while Jerry was stationed there. They have been by each other side for 65 years until his death on 16 September 2022. They have traveled the world together, been separated multiple times due to military deployments and TDYs, which only made their bond stronger.
Carol loved to travel and see new things and passed that sense of adventure on to her children. She and Jerry took advantage of the Air Force to see many sites throughout Europe as well as many places throughout the united States. Her hobbies were reading, knitting, and sewing, which she truly loved to do.
She will be dearly missed by her sons, Randall (Cheryal) Rickaby of McAlester, OK, Daniel (Jeannine) Rickaby of Wichita, KS, and Patrick (Susan) Rickaby of Wichita, KS. Ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren survive her. She has one surviving sisters, Fay Kantorwaski of Wichita, KS, and sisters-in-law Donna Beno of Green Bay, WI and Jean Nachtwey of Bend, OR.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Fern Boyd, in-laws, Roland and Gladys Rickaby, brothers Gary Boyd and Bobby Boyd and sister Betty Boyd, brothers-in-law Marty Beno, Donald Nachtwey, James Rickaby, Val Kantorwaski, and sister-in-law, Joan Rickaby.
At Carol’s request there will be no viewing, she will be laid to rest at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Wichita, KS on February 11, 2026, at 1 PM.
