

She is preceded in death by her father, Richard E. Roby.
Carol is survived by her mother, Carolyn E. Roby; brother, Mark Roby; sisters, Joan (Greg) Haflich, Katherine Roby (Jeff Sikes); nieces, Claire Haflich-Hazel (Nick Hazel), Carolyn Haflich and Emma Sikes. She is also survived by great-niece Margot Hazel and great-nephew Benjamin Hazel.
Carol was a graduate of Wichita Southeast High School and was a proud alumnus of Kansas State University. She graduated with a degree in biology and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.
Carol spent her 35-year career in the medical profession at KU, St. Luke’s, and Quest Diagnostics, all in the Kansas City area. She retired in 2017.
Carol was an avid traveler and visited many parts of the world. She enjoyed doing so with her family and friends. Most recently, she enjoyed a trip to Panama with close friends.
She fervently supported the local arts community and generously offered her time to volunteer at numerous events, including working at voting polls each election cycle.
Carol was passionate about reading, a frequent museum-goer and deeply appreciated all forms of music. Carol knew a thing or two about sports, supporting the KC Royals & Chiefs, but her true love was the Kansas State Wildcats.
Carol’s family will have a private graveside service.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 1:00PM to 3:00PM, Saturday, June 29th, at the Powell Gardens in the Conifer Room, 1609 NW US Hwy 50, Kingsville, Missouri.
Memorial contributions in Carol's memory can be made to the Johnson Cancer Research Center of Kansas State University Foundation.
